Peaceful Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan

The "Peaceful Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan" project is going in its third round with a focus on the increasing polarization of the discourse around religion and secularism in the country. We will continue working with civil society actors, religious groups and state representatives to reduce the increasing tensions and to support an open dialogue on the role of religion in Kyrgyzstan.

Target Group

Youth and young adults in rural areas in the seven target regions, Chuy, Jalalabad, Osh, Issyk Kul, Naryn, Talas and Batken.Religious leaders and state representatives.

Project Goals

The project is aimed at reducing the tensions between religious and secular groups in Kyrgyzstan and raising awareness on how people with different systems of norms, values and habits can peacefully coexist within a society. It creates a space for reflection, dialogue and mutual understanding between societal groups who interact rarely and a possibility for young people to get active with their own ideas of contributing to a peaceful coexistence.
