CRISP at Ukraine Recovery Conference
On June 20th, CRISP attended a conference in London, titled "Shaping the new Ukraine: Delivering resilient recovery," which aimed to explore strategies and solutions for building a fully recovered and developed Ukraine, amidst its EU-integration process.
Recognizing the immense human and financial resources required for Ukraine's recovery, the event brought together participants from Ukraine and various international entities, including governments, civil society organizations, cities, philanthropic organizations, private foundations, and the private sector. This diverse gathering aimed to foster dialogue and collaboration to ensure a sustainable, inclusive, and transparent reconstruction of Ukraine across all aspects of public life. The discussions revolved around finding ways to ensure long-term resilience, inclusivity, and transparency in the reconstruction process.
“It is particularly important, that Ukrainian civil society is seen as the implementing actor of recovery measures, and not just as a target group or a watchdog. Also Ukrainians, who are currently abroad, because of the Russian invasion, should be able to add their contribution. We need a strategy for reintegration of Ukrainians in evacuation and occupation”, - says our colleague Kateryna Pavlova, who attended the conference. CRISP in cooperation with Open Platform/Alliance of Ukrainian Organizations advocate for a sustainable involvement of Ukrainian diaspora in the recovery process.
The conference also featured a thought-provoking photo exhibition entitled "Mission Possible: Rebuilding Ukraine Now." Curated by ISAR Ednannia as part of the USAID Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity, the exhibition showcased inspiring visuals highlighting ongoing efforts and achievements in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
With the support of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and in conjunction with the international Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023, this conference provided a valuable platform for fostering collaboration and exploring strategies to shape a better future for Ukraine. By bringing together key stakeholders and promoting the exchange of ideas, the conference aimed to contribute to the resilient recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, laying the foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future.
