Short Bio

Elena was born in Weimar and studied cultural and urban research at Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), Science-Po Lyon and Bauhaus University in Weimar. During her studies, she developed her interest in international relations and focused on researching cities as places of participation, integration and protest. For this purpose, she was for example in Serbia, Israel and Ukraine. During her studies, she worked in the fields of civic participation, cultural mediation and youth education in Berlin, Leipzig and San Francisco and gave university seminars on the role of German cities in the EU border regime.

Elena is also a facilitator and trainer for constructive conflict transformation and transcultural learning (ATCC) and worked with initiatives, municipalities as well as with international education providers as a freelancer after her studies. Elena is now part of the CRISP team since 2021.
