During the (1) one we pass on the method of simulation gaming to local English speaking trainers. These trainers implement their own simulation games during stage (2), with the support of our local partner CDS. Afterwards these trainers deliver a a Training-of-Facilitators in Arabic to further local trainers (3). Here we are explicitly targeting those areas beyond the urban centers Cairo and Alexandria. Both generations will then implement newly developed simulation games during stage (4). At the end of the project we come together again (5) for a final meeting. Here we will conserve all new knowledge, the new simulation games and set up a network for simulation games in Egypt. This network is meant to be the main info and contact point in Egypt for the method. Furthermore the final meeting will serve as a basis for the activities in 2015.
Target Group
Local trainers of the field of non-formal education, who want to expand their tool-set, in order to work on social conflicts. For the first two stages we are looking for English speaking trainers. The subsequent stages will be mostly done Arabic – here we’d kindly like to invite trainers and facilitators who are working outside the urban areas.
Project Goals
Due to our previous activities we agreed, together with our partner CDS, to put an emphasis on empowering local trainers out of the field of non-formal education. The overall goal is to pass on the method of simulation gaming to local trainers, in order to enable them to work more on social conflicts. In this regard we consider the method as very beneficial, as it offers the trainers to also work on complex issues and conflicts. Furthermore the method is suitable for a target group that does not have access to higher education, due to its experienced-based approach of learning. That’s why we want to reach also those areas beyond Cairo and Alexandria during the implementation phases of this project.
