Advanced Training in Peace Project Design

We are steadily progressing in the Kyrgyz project

The second training for young peacebuilders took place at a wonderful lake of Issyk-Kul. Twenty participants from all regions of Kyrgyzstan went deep into the topic of impact-oriented project design, and based on their profound conflict analysis developed ten peace initiatives to be implemented until the end of 2019.

The initiatives tackle actual conflicts of the local communities, like interethnic, interschool and interregional ones, also the failing communication between different religious groups, wearing hijab at school and limited access to qualitative education for girls. We are proud of the young activists, who are so brave to contribute to peaceful resolution of the burning issues in their communities and will together with the local partners support them in implementing reasonable and conflict-sensitive initiatives. After the training, the participants presented their plans to the representatives of the state authorities like State Agency for Youth Affairs, Local Self-Government Network, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Education etc. State stakeholders expressed support and interest to include the ideas into their activities and create synergies for more sustainability of the peace projects and youth participation in them.
