Welcome to Jan, our new Trainee

Welcome to Jan Lucas, who joined CRISP this January.

Jan holds an MA in International Affairs from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, and a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University. During his studies, he conducted research on conflict analysis, democratization, and multi-level governance in areas of limited statehood.

Before joining CRISP in January, Jan worked with the German government on European foreign policy and security cooperation. Internships have brought him to Sudan, Tunisia, and Israel. His time with the EU delegation in Khartoum had an especially strong impact on him, which is why he wants to support civil peace initiatives.

He is particularly interested in interpersonal conflict dynamics and their impact on group conflict. Currently, he is training to become a non-partisan conflict mediator, which he hopes to employ this skill in order to deliver helpful insights in CRISP projects and trainings.

Welcome, Jan!
