CEEM - Civic Education with Emancipatory Methods

First residential training in Georgia took place

We are happy to announce, that the first residential training from the Project CEEM- Civic education with emancipatory methods took place in Surami, Georgia from November 19th to 21st. With 20 participants from different regions in Georgia, we introduced the methods of simulation game and Theatre in Education and worked on current questions within civic education. Due to Covid – 19 the training was held hybrid. We are grateful for the exciting and fruitful discussions within the group and the good cooperation with our Partners in Georgia.

In collaboration with CETF - Civic Education Teachers Forum and Aitsona-Daitsona the project aims to train Civic Education teachers in interactive emancipatory methodology to enrich methodological diversity at Georgian schools. Through a hybrid approach, combining online and residential activities we also enable the adaption of online methodology to the teachers after a long-lasting period of online learning due to the pandemic.

After the successful start of the project, we plan to work more deeply on the methodology as well as on the role of civic education in the different regions. Eventually, the teachers will learn to facilitate the method of Simulation games within their classes.
