Every year, the IFA CrossCulture Programme enables professionals and committed volunteers to experience practical training in a host organisation in one of more than 40 CCP partner countries. The goal of the program is to strengthen civil society networks between Germany and countries across the globe. This year – due to the circumstances – the fellowships were held remotely, and we must say very successfully. We ourselves at CRISP hosted a CCP fellow and were very happy with our cooperation.
Beyond that we were able to share our knowledge about conflict transformation with 25 of the CCP fellows. Like the previous times, the four modules covered the basic terminology of peace, conflict and violence, the introduction of conflict analysis tools and gave the participants valuable insight into actual conflicts by sessions held by our partners in (post- and current) conflict zones. The participants were able to put their skills into action by using the methods they learned in their own conflict analysis. Then, along the example of one of CRISP’s own projects we were able to demonstrate how the transfer from theory (including Theory of Change) to action happens in real life.
Yet again CRISP enjoyed the implementation and according to the feedback we received so did the participants. The round was always very lively, and as a facilitator of the training it was refreshing to experience the level of interest, professionalism and interaction. It was not just “another online training” for us but a pleasure.
