Within the simulation, the participants take over the role of diplomatic representatives of the current UN Security Council member states and negotiate the conditions for a possible prolongation of the mission. A special thematic focus was put on the climate & security nexus, discussing the question if the impact of climate change on the conflict situation in Mali and the wider Sahel should be mentioned in the resolution.
Due to the current travel restrictions, we decided to train already experienced facilitators in Vietnam via an online coaching, who successfully implemented the workshop for 30 students.
