Short Bio

Marcelo spent his formative years in both Ecuador and Peru before moving to Germany ten years ago. He is very passionate about social transformation and non-formal education and has great interests in commoning, lands and livelihoods, social-ecological resilience (with a focus on climate change), agroecology, agroforestry, and herbalism.

After completing his bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Marcelo worked with indigenous communities of the Peruvian Amazon. In collaboration with local organizations and community members, he worked on projects related to youth empowerment and reforestation. Through his work with organizations and cooperatives in Ecuador, Guatemala, and Germany, as well as through a master's degree in Sustainable International Agriculture, Marcelo has been able to deepen his knowledge of social-ecological issues.
