During the pilot phase, educators from schools within the capital city of Abuja will attend a training of trainers where they learn about the concept of simulation gaming, how to develop and also implement simulation games. These trainers will return to their schools and engage students in simulation gaming for peace, thus transferring their knowledge and impacting the attitudes and competencies of the students.
Target Group
The target group of the pilot phase is comprised educators from junior and senior secondary schools in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja who will be instructed in simulation game design and implementation in a training of trainers. Additionally, the target group includes the students who will be led by the trained teachers in simulation games which reflect the conflicts in Nigerian society.
Project Goals
The goal of the project is to sensitize Nigerian students to the conflicts in their country and to give them the opportunity to explore solutions through the method of simulation gaming. The participants gain skills for creative conflict resolution and to contribute to a culture of peace in Nigeria.
