A warm welcome, Simon!

Welcome to CRISP: Simon combines an academic interest in peace, security and international politics with practical experience in education, communication and civil-military cooperation – bringing fresh perspectives to simulation exercises and digital learning formats.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Simon.

Simon brings with him a keen interest in non-violent conflict resolution, political education and international security. He has a particular focus on Kosovo. He grew up in Baden-Württemberg, studied social sciences at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and will begin a Master’s degree in ‘Peace and Security Studies’ in October.

Before joining CRISP, Simon gained experience in a wide variety of work environments, ranging from the university education project “Beuys Tracks” to an internship in digital communications at Covestro. He also worked as a role-player in multinational training scenarios, where he supported the preparation of international personnel for field missions and gained first-hand insights into the dynamics of civil-military cooperation.
In his academic work, Simon has explored issues of justice, power and global security. On his own blog, he writes about foreign policy topics, including Iran, Sudan and European deterrence policy. His long-standing interest in games and new technologies is one of the reasons why CRISP’s blend of simulation games, political education and digital learning formats particularly appeals to him.

CRISP is delighted to welcome Simon to the team as an intern for the next three months. We look forward to his contributions to project preparation and follow-up, the further development of seminar formats, and the search for new funding opportunities.
