Call from our partner organization MitOst

MitOst is looking for moderators and experts / speakers for two forums Ukraine-Lab in frames of the project “Dialogue for change”. Moderators are expected to be proficient in Ukrainian and/or Russian, the experts could also speak only English (translation for the experts sessions can be provided).

Ukraine Lab

Since July 2014 MitOst e.V. is implementing in Ukraine a big project “Dialogue for change” which is aimed on strengthening civil society on the grass-root level, fostering fair and tolerant dialogue between people from different regions and backgrounds and introducing interdisciplinary innovative approaches in the civil society and culture of Ukraine. The project is supported by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Robert Bosch Foundation and European Cultural Foundation and is being operated in the cooperation with Ukrainian NGO “IO / Insha osvita“.
The already known MitOst programs like Maysternya and Tandem are the parts of “Dialogue for change”. Besides of that we are developing new formats like Ukraine Lab. Ukraine Lab is aimed to be an interdisciplinary platform for a smart networking and cross-sectorial cooperation of the change makers in Ukraine as well as a think tank and incubator for visions and innovations for Ukrainian civil
society and culture. Targeting this we are starting in 2015 with two forums / open-spaces in Ukraine which should build the basis for such a platform.
MitOst is looking for moderators and experts / speakers for the both forums / open-spaces. We are looking forward for the applications from MitOst-members as well as members of the Theodor-HeussKolleg trainer pool. External experst are welcomed to apply with the recommendation of a MitOstmember. All the details regarding the call are following below.


EVENT Nr. 1 / Ukraine Lab 1 / KickOff Forum Ukraine Lab
Topic: “Ukraine Lab: Best practices and interdisciplinary approaches in the civil society and culture
for the (after)-crisis period”



Date: 23.-26.03.2014 (23.03. – arrival, 26.03. – departure)
Place: Kyiv, Ukraine

Participants: 30 participants from Ukraine and 5 participants from EU. The participants are coming from NGO sector.


Points for the agenda:
1) Getting to know each other / intensive experience exchange and smart networking between
the participants
2) Crisis and after-crisis periods. Civil society, culture and NGO / cultural management during
crisis and after-crisis period: main challenges and chances. Role of civil society and culture in(after)-crisis periods.
3) Experiences from other countries: How could civil society and culture “survive” and growfrom conflicts?
4) Innovative or/and interdisciplinary approaches for (after)-crisis periods in the civil society. Why to bring different sectors and approaches together?
5) First draft of the vision of the Ukrainian civil society 2016+
6) Discussion on the concept for the next Ukraine Lab forum


Dissimulation:
Blog or homepage of Ukraine Lab / All the results (recommendations, description of approaches and methods) should be put on online in a very visual way.
Call for 2 moderators (for all of the days of the forum) and 2 to 3 experts / speakers (for singlesessions/workshops on one of the days).
Moderators are responsible for the facilitation of the whole process and group dynamics, for the appropriate use of diverse methods as well as for fulfilling the main learning targets of the meeting.
Moderators are expected to be actively involved in the development of the agenda, to be proficient in the work with open results methods like open-space and to have experience of the work with NGO leaders, civil activists and/or cultural managers. The working languages of the forum are Ukrainian
and Russian, so the moderators are expected to be proficient in at least one of these languages. We especially welcome the applications from the moderators with a profound Ukraine expertise and well as personal experience in NGO / cultural management. It is also wished that at least one of the moderators will facilitate the both forums in order to ensure the knowledge transfer. The moderation fee is 1 000 Euro per one person including preparation and reporting. Travel costs as well as accommodation and meals during the forum are covered by MitOst.


Experts / speakers are persons with a deep expertise in one of the questions in the points 2), 3) and 4) who are implementing one or two sessions (1,5 hours or 3 hours) for the participants in form of an input, a lecture, a presentations or a workshop. The experts does not necessarily have to speak Ukrainian and/or Russian, the translation of their session(s) could be provided. The experts / speakers are welcomed to apply with the concrete topic and short description of their lecture / workshop as well as with their expectations for the fee. Travel costs as well as accommodation and meals during the forum are covered by MitOst.
Applications from the moderators and experts / speakers should include CV and a short motivation letter. Moderators are welcome to share their first ideas to the agenda and the methods. Experts / speakers are kindly asked to send as well the topic of their session (on frames of the points 2), 3) or 4)) as well as its short description. Event 2 / Ukraine Lab 2 / Final Forum Ukraine Lab
Topic: “Ukraine Lab: Innovations and visions for peacebuilding in the civil society and culture”

Date: 20.-24.09.2015 (partial overlapping with MitOst-Festival on 23.09. and 24.09.,20.09. - arrival, 24.09, - departure)

Place: Iwano-Frankiwsk, Ukraine

Participants: 70 participants from Ukraine and 20 participants from EU. Participants should come from different sectors: NGOs (55%), state structures (15%), business (15%) and media (15%). It is wished that part of participants of the first forum is taking place on the second forum, so they the second forum should be building on the first one.


Points for the agenda:
1) Getting to know each other / intensive experience exchange and smart networking between the participants
2) Innovative and interdisciplinary approaches / best practices of cross-sectoral cooperation for the peacebuilding
3) Peacebuilding in civil society and culture / Approaches and experiences from other countries
4) Vision of the Ukrainian civil society and culture 2016+
5) Public event for the presentation and dissimulation of the vision (form has to cleared, likepresentation, open panel discussion or online discussions on Internet television)
