With support from the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), CRISP organized a 1.5-day simulation game focused on elections and parliamentary systems. The event took place during the FES School on Politics, Leadership, and Advocacy in Warsaw, attracting more than 20 participants from over 10 countries representing diverse positions in organizations, governments, activists and journalism.
The aim of the School is to strengthen democratic institutions by enhancing the capacity of 24 young politicians, activists, and parliamentarians through comprehensive training in leadership, advocacy, campaigning, negotiations, team building, and policy analysis, fostering youth political participation and facilitating substantive exchanges on political parties, democracy, and elections.
During the fourth and fifth days of the school, CRISP facilitated the simulation game ‘Transolvia Elections’, emphasizing the role of civil society in contemporary society, the potential for reform, negotiations in the election process, coalition building within a parliamentary system, and the responsibilities of election short-term and long-term observers during the election processes.
Following one and a half intense days of the simulation game, all participants gathered to further enhance transcultural networking, exchange interests, needs, and competences, and explore opportunities for cooperation and collaboration. Concluding the event with a dinner, along with ample room for informal exchange, we reflect on a highly successful event that opened up new possibilities for capacity building among young future decision makers.
