Between the 25th and 27th of October, we implemented our introductory workshop in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Centre for International Relations in Banja, Luka, in the frame of the project “Simulating the Present, Modelling the Future: Students Challenge Extremism”. This project will include a total of three workshops and conclude with the development of a policy paper on right-wing populism and extremism, with recommendations brought by the students. In this first phase, we introduced the related terminology and discussed the theory behind it, and tried to understand what these terms mean in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We were happy to have enthusiastic discussions with students from five different cities.
In the second workshop, held between the 22nd and 24th of November, we will be implementing the adapted simulation game “Rexania” with the participants to help us develop the specific recommendations that will be included in the policy paper.
The project is made possible thanks to the support of Bosnia and Herzegovina Resilience Initiative (BHRI), implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and financially supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
