CRISP and OSCE Academy Collaborate in Peace and Conflict Training

From September 17th to 21st, 2023, CRISP in collaboration with the OSCE Academy, conducted a Certificate Training on Peace and Conflict. This 5-day program aimed to provide participants from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan with a comprehensive understanding of key concepts, tools, and methodologies in conflict transformation.

During the first part of the course, participants explored fundamental terms and concepts, along with practical conflict analysis tools. In the latter phase of the training, a simulated conflict scenario was enacted, addressing typical challenges encountered in post-conflict situations. This hands-on experience allowed participants to apply their newly acquired skills within a realistic context, enhancing their grasp of complex conflict dynamics and enabling them to develop effective intervention strategies.

Leading the training were Oliver Wiechmann, senior consultant at CRISP, and Ulugbek Nurumbetov, the founder and director of the Institute for Peace and Development.

As the Certificate Training on Peace and Conflict concludes, we extend our best wishes to the participants from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. We hope the knowledge gained during these five days will contribute to their efforts in addressing conflict challenges.
