From March 28–30, 2025, CRISP hosted a three-day training in Berlin for members of the Ukrainian diaspora in Germany. Organized in cooperation with Open Platform and the Allianz Ukrainischer Organisationen, the training was part of the Projekt Flügel: Empowerment gegen Desinformation, supported by the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Berlin.
The training aimed to equip participants with tools to respond to anti-Ukrainian disinformation and to support them in developing their own community initiatives. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in a combination of theoretical sessions and practical workshops, including analysis of prevalent disinformation narratives in Germany, communication strategies for difficult conversations, simulations and exercises for real-life scenarios, advocacy strategies within the German context, as well as project development and external communication planning.
The group also met with the Berlin-based editorial team of Amal Berlin, exchanging experiences on public outreach. On the final day, participants began shaping their own project ideas, which will be supported by CRISP and Open Platform through seed funding and mentorship.
The training is a part of a broader initiative to strengthen the visibility and capacity of the Ukrainian diaspora in Germany to actively counter disinformation. Participants will now continue with the implementation phase, with projects ranging from podcasts and research to public events and community campaigns.
