Join CRISP as a Financial Manager in Berlin!

We are seeking for a part-time Financial Manager for global projects. Handle project accounting, donor communication, and business operations support. Apply by January 15, 2024.

Overview

CRISP is a non-governmental organization dedicated to conflict transformation and civic education. We are seeking a part-time Financial Manager to spearhead project accounting, manage grant-related finances, and facilitate effective donor communication for our global initiatives. 

Responsibilities

Project Support

  • Handle project accounting, submit grant instalments, and track expenses for projects worldwide.
  • Handle the payment and booking of project related expenses.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Coordinators in managing grants. 
  • Support development of financial plans for projects.
  • Zahlungsnachweis-Verwaltung (payment proof management) and Barabhebungen (cash withdrawals) handling.
  • Brief accountants of the implementing partners to ensure that all bills are issued according to donor´s requirements.

Donor Communication and Reporting

  • Manage communication with donors regarding financial matters, ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive interim and final financial reports for various projects, adhering to donor guidelines.
  • Prepare and handle Verwendungsnachweise (use of funds certificates) in line with grant requirements.

Business Operations

  • Support in preparing offers for potential clients, ensuring accurate financial details and feasibility.
  • Handle invoicing for services rendered.
Requirements

Language Skills

  • Proficiency in English; German B2 level.
  • Communication skills to interact with project accountants of partner organizations.

Financial Knowledge

  • Experience in managing grants, developing financial plans for projects, and handling financial reporting for annual reports.
  • Experience with German Funding Law, demonstrating an understanding of relevant regulations is a benefit.

Work Hours and Salary

  • Starting Date: Preferably 01.02.2024, a later starting date can be negotiated.
  • Part-time position: 20 hours per week.
  • Salary: 1.600,00 € Brutto (Oriented at: Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst - German public sector salary scale).
