The “Sharek - Participate Project” recently held a successful two-day evaluation workshop in Amman from July 20th to 21st, 2024. The workshop brought together 19 young adults, including 13 females and 6 males, representing five targeted governorates: Amman, Ajloun, Karak, Zarqa, and Irbid. The event served as a platform for these young participants to evaluate and reflect on their involvement in the project’s activities.
The project ended with a successful closing event attended by 150 enthusiastic young people from across Jordan’s diverse social, cultural, and political backgrounds. Among the attendees, 80% were young women who are recognized as community leaders.
The event’s significance was highlighted by the presence of the esteemed guest of honor, Dr. Ali El-Khawalda, Secretary General of the Jordanian Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs. In his remarks, Dr. El-Khawalda emphasized the numerous opportunities available in Jordan for increasing youth involvement in decision-making processes. He highlighted the ongoing support from both government and civil society institutions for fostering active civic participation among young people in the public and political spheres. Dr. El-Khawalda also expressed his appreciation for the project team’s dedication to enhancing the capacities of Jordan’s youth through meaningful programs and initiatives.
