To lay the foundation for the youth-led initiatives planned by the Sharek Project, led by CRISP, Motive, and CDS, training was conducted for 31 young individuals (10 males and 21 females) from both urban and rural areas of the target governorates. The comprehensive training equipped these youths with essential tools, methods, and skills to design and execute social initiatives. With a strong emphasis on digital initiatives and social innovation, the training prepared participants to expand their social engagement, contribute to social cohesion, and drive economic development in their communities.
The training culminated in the drafting of various innovative local initiatives by the participants. These initiatives, aimed at strengthening youth participation in public spaces, are now in the implementation phase. The social issues tackled by the initiatives include civic engagement and public services, legal awareness and rights, support for families with disabilities, environmental awareness and sustainability, health and wellness, energy conservation, and media literacy.
Examples of Youth-Led Initiatives:
- Shama’a Project (Irbid): This initiative focuses on providing educational content and guidance on interacting with and supporting individuals with learning disabilities. The project aims to train 45 education graduates to deliver this content, ultimately reaching 100,000 families and enhancing their ability to support their disabled members, fostering inclusive community practices.
- Eco-Youth Initiative (Ajloun): This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainability practices among youth. Through workshops, community clean-up campaigns, and the creation of green spaces, the project seeks to engage young people in environmental stewardship and conservation efforts.
- Digital Literacy and Media Awareness (Zarqa): This initiative addresses the need for media literacy and digital skills among youth. By offering training sessions on critical thinking, responsible media consumption, and digital tool usage, the project aims to empower young individuals to navigate the digital world safely and effectively.
To maximize engagement, these conceptualized initiatives will be published online, ensuring that their impact is both broad and sustainable. Through their digital presence, the initiatives aim to provide accessible information and foster a community of proactive, informed, and empowered young individuals across Jordan.
