- The African UN Youth Delegate and Representative Program AUNYD is not an official UN program. The UN Youth Delegate Program is driven and owned by UN Member States. Official Youth Delegates are always exclusively selected by UN Member States. The civil society youth representatives we select at the AUNYD have a better chance to become national UN Youth Delegates through our training and support
The representatives moderated the entire event, presented their mandate and vision and took part in a panel debate with a UNDP expert Maria Stage , Youth Climate Negotiator Pooja Tilvawala and German Youth Representative Johanna Lichtschlag. Youth Representatives from over 10 countries joined the discussions.
The event sparked several ideas and initiatives to increase youth participation from the Global South at the UN. We will support these ideas with determination and keep you posted.
