Calling for Donors: Chilean Youth Participation in Constitutional Process 2024/25

Empowering Chilean youth for a brighter future: join us in shaping the New Constitution. Be a part of our project to educate, engage, and empower Chilean youth in the constitutional process. Together, we can make a difference and pave the way for a brighter future of youth and children in Chile!

Background:
In 2019, Chile experienced a significant social movement demanding political, social, and economic reforms. As a result, a constitutional process was initiated, with the goal of drafting a new constitution that better reflects the aspirations of the Chilean people. Since then, we have been actively supporting this process and advocating for meaningful youth participation.

Our Project:
In 2022, we conducted innovative simulation games to collect opinions and expectations of Chilean youth regarding the new constitution. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with young people expressing a strong desire to be more engaged and informed about the constitutional process.

To continue our efforts, we are now seeking donors to support our project in 2024/25. Our plan includes the following key components:

  1. Workshops: We will organize workshops across Chile to familiarize youth with the new constitution and its implications. These workshops will provide a platform for young people to learn, discuss, and engage with the constitutional process, and empower them to become active participants in shaping the future of their country.
  2. Youth-friendly booklet: We will publish a user-friendly booklet that simplifies the language and concepts of the new constitution, making it more accessible and engaging for young people. This booklet will serve as a valuable educational resource, helping to increase youth awareness and understanding of the constitutional changes.
  3. Capacitating youth-mediators: We will provide training and capacity-building to young people to become mediators and facilitators in the constitutional process. These trained youth-mediators will act as bridge-builders between the constitutional authorities and their peers, facilitating dialogue and promoting youth participation in the decision-making processes.
  4. Didactic module on the political system: We will develop a didactic module that explains the functioning of the political system under the new constitution. This module will be designed to be interactive and engaging, helping young people to grasp the complexities of the political system and empowering them to participate effectively.

We invite donors to join us in making a substantial contribution to Chile's democratic transition. Your support can help us empower Chilean youth, promote meaningful participation, and create a more inclusive and equitable society.
