During the three days of training, we not only analysed the most common myths and collected facts to refute them, but also learned how this information can be used effectively in discussions. We looked at dialogue strategies such as mirroring, paraphrasing, changing perspectives, etc., which help to combine emotional and factual arguments in difficult political discussions. The focus was on democratic dialogue, which we examined in all its facets and mechanisms.
In the next step, the participants themselves will organise dialogue events at everyday locations in Chemnitz, Leipzig, Zwickau and other cities in order to promote exchange and discussion. The dialogue events will be held by the trained tandems in Chemnitz on the following dates: 14 September, 12 October, 16 November and 14 December. Further dates in Saxony are being planned. We would like to thank the committed participants and the great cooperation with Ukraine-Haus Chemnitz and hope for an effective German-Ukrainian dialogue.
If you are interested in the German-Ukrainian dialogue in Saxony and have ideas for cooperation, we look forward to hearing from you.
The project is being implemented thanks to funding from the BAMF's "Social Cohesion" programme.
