Teachers in Charlottenburg test the Konfliktsimulator

At a staff assembly on democracy in Berlin, teachers tested the AI-based Konfliktsimulator and practised difficult conversations with virtual characters.

On 22 September 2026, CRISP presented the Konfliktsimulator at the annual staff assembly for educational staff at general schools in Berlin's Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district. The district's staff council had invited around 600 teachers and educators to the Delphi cinema in Berlin. At the "Market of Opportunities" ahead of the plenary, participants learned about approaches to fostering democratic thinking in themselves and in their students.

At the CRISP stand, teachers tried out the Konfliktsimulator directly. The AI-supported VR and browser-based training format enables educational professionals to practise de-escalation, conversation skills and constructive conflict handling in conversations with adaptive virtual characters, as often as needed and without real-world risk. An AI coach provides feedback after each conversation.

The feedback was clear. Teachers valued being given a tool that allows them to prepare for conflict situations independently. Voice input worked reliably despite considerable background noise. Many highlighted the gamified approach and described the conversations with the virtual characters as both enjoyable and instructive.

Educational professionals who would like to experience the tool themselves are invited to take part in the ongoing testing phase and help shape its further development. Join at www.konfliktsimulator.de.
