Café Kyiv – We Choose Freedom

On 27.02.2023, one year since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the “Cafe Kyiv“ event organized by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung aimed to emphasize solidarity with Ukraine and the fact that Kyiv is closer to Europe not only geographically but also politically.

Throughout the day, Café Kyiv hosted workshops, discussions, talks, and cultural events with the main themes of freedom, Europe, security, and recovery. Through art, history, films, cuisine, and creativity, guests had the opportunity to discover Ukraine and hear its diverse voices.

Therefore, our CRISP-team, together with Europäische Akademie Berlin, prepared a maze quiz that aims to reveal the topic of modern Ukrainian history by deconstructing Russian propaganda. It consists of 6 questions that correspond to the most common propaganda strategies. In this way, we invited the guests of the event to try their hand at knowing the most famous facts of Ukrainian history and distinguishing disinformation and Russian propaganda from true facts.

We counted more than 50 quiz participants on the day of the event and sincere interest in trying a more complete digital version of the game. We also received a lot of ideas on how to improve the structure and content to make the maze even more interesting and effective.

We are extremely grateful to Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for inviting us to this important event in support of Ukraine and looking forward to further cooperation.
